I just got back from the Exploring the Light juried photography show. This yearly show is set up by the city of Lone Tree. There were 438 images submitted into this show and only 63 images accepted. So to get into this show is quite and honor. I was excited when I got the news that one of my images was accepted in. The image accepted in was titled "Half Moon Bridge", which was one of three I had submitted.
The event has a nice turn out and my image was well received. I had heard many nice comments about my piece and questions. I always like to lurk around and see people looking and reacting to my work. Even the city mayor was there to present the judge.
The image was taken in Texas in the Japanese Gardens. It was my first destination wedding, in which I have Sam and Dorothea to thank. During the rehearsal, it was raining but it made the gardens alive with COLOR. After the rehearsal, I ran to the nearest Target and got the biggest umbrella I could find. I headed back an got to capture this beautiful moment of the half moon bridge.
This was also the first show I had my image printed on a plaque. It came out beautiful. It was a honor to be in this show. Here are a few images from today, I grabbed quick with my cell phone. The show runs thru June 2014 so if you live in the area feel free to stop in.
